This new project by btexx provides you with a state-of-the-art logging and managing solution for employee work times. The registration of arrival and departure times takes place optionally either online through a Self Service in SAP Enterprise Portal or offline with
a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). With a touch of a button offline data is transmitted to the Enterprise Portal via GPRS, where the information is booked into the back-end systems through the corresponding interfaces.

btexx has successfully accomplished a Knowledge Management project based on the SAP Enterprise Portal Technology with a large German construction financing provider. The portal is used by approx. 500 internal and external users for project documentation. Key requirements were a simple authentication management, based on Microsoft Active Directory, version management and secure external access via internet. Key features are news, upload and download sections, TREX search, version management and document status management. The Portal of a large German leasing company makes the productive R/3 systems available from the Internet for their partners and clients to access analyses and information regarding their current leasing objects. Up-to-date company news, upload features, search and provision of brochures and information were implemented with the KM component of SAP Enterprise Portal. Security is provided by access authentication solely with X.509 certificates on eToken (a USB based smart-card solution). The next step will be the integration of the Business Warehouse into the Portal. It is currently also planned to redesign the intranet based on the same technology and to allow staff direct access to the HR system plus to integrate further applications as well.

The portal supports budgeting and project selection based on the Strategic Enterprise Controlling (SPC) for more than 5,000 projects worldwide. The web-based solution allows fast and consolidated budgeting and project selection. Master data are consolidated with SAP, budgeted projects are then passed on to the PS modules of the worldwide distributed SAP systems. The technical realisation is based on a Linux Web Application Cluster and the Oracle database.
