New enviaM customer portal online

Innovative portal solution sets new standards for power companies

enviaM is the leading regional power company in Eastern Germany. As a subsidiary of RWE AG, the enviaM Group comprises enviaM and the majority holdings in a company that joins different areas of expertise and takes advantage of synergies to create lasting value for customers and partners.

With support from IT service provider GISA, enviaM evaluated suitable software products for its new customer portal. After carefully examining the different software providers, enviaM ultimately decided on products from btexx. The goal of the portal project was to create an innovative and visually appealing customer portal featuring enviaM's new branding. The portal went online on May 23 and sets new standards for the online communication of power companies.

GISA – a leading IT service provider in Central Germany for process and IT consulting – played a key role in implementing the new customer portal solution. Together with btexx, GISA completed the project in a period of only eight months. The result is an attractive customer portal with a powerful Web content management system that offers the services in demand today.

btexx is a specialist for Enterprise 2.0 portals with SAP and Microsoft. As a software manufacturer the company provides solutions for content management, search, collaboration and document management. enviaM chose “btexx easyWCM” as their professional CMS, “btexx universalSearch” as an enterprise search solution, and “btexx documentManager”.  

One of the highlights of the project was the realization of an online customer center for business and private customers that features many different self services. For example, customers are able to manage meter readings and change their products and plans on their own. The project team put priority on excellent customer service and a user-friendly interface. SAP's External Facing Portal and WebDynpro provided the technological framework.

GISA and btexx succeeded in combining powerful enterprise software with an attractive and user-friendly GUI while meeting today's demands on design and usability.
