DKV Euro Service: Prospect and customer portal

Project description

The prospect and customer portal was created using SAP portal technology and btexx easyWCM. DKV Project Manager Shah Saad Azfar notes how well the btexx easyWCM Content Management System works with the SAP NetWeaver Portal and how easy it is to use: "There is no need for direct administration in the Knowledge Management (KM) system or the Portal Content Directory (PCD) to manage content. A simple mouse click in the portal graphical user interface (GUI) is all that is required to perform all of the necessary steps for creating editorial content in the portal."

The easyWCM editing tool is what makes the system so simple. It enables users to take advantage of individual DKV easyWCM input forms within the SAP standard component KM.

Shah Saad Azfar: "Editors don’t have to worry about Corporate Design, because this is already predefined within the btexx easyWCM forms – even across national boundaries."

Additional technological highlights were created within the DKV Euro Service customer portal. Here DKV customers can access electronic transaction data online, perform preliminary calculations for in-transit costs using route planning instruments or use a geoinformation system to achieve optimum control of fuel consumption.

A web-based service station finder featuring electronic pricing information and fuel pricing trends completes the online service information portfolio. In addition, a custom-developed solution was created in collaboration with MT AG in Ratingen, Germany, in order to extend the package to include a Content Management Workflow System in the SAP Portal, both for the approval process as well as for translation monitoring. This enables structured management of multilingual content in six foreign languages throughout the SAP NetWeaver Portal. The SAP NetWeaver Portal has created the technical foundation required to offer additional portal languages for the rapidly growing Eastern European and Turkish marketplaces.
